David Sallee enjoyed a forty-year career in leadership positions in higher education beginning as a faculty member and department chair and culminating with sixteen years as president of William Jewell College.
David served as president of William Jewell College from 2000-2016. He led the development of numerous academic initiatives at the College and was instrumental in raising over $100 million during his tenure. Prior to his work at Jewell, David served as vice president for enrollment for fifteen years at Luther College and Oklahoma Baptist University after beginning his career as a faculty member and coach at OBU. He has a thorough understanding of the cultures of colleges and universities and direct experience in athletics, enrollment, advancement and institutional leadership.
During the course of his career, David led numerous searches for both senior positions and staff-level positions. His work with the governing boards at all three institutions prepares him well to work with boards and senior leadership in search processes. David is an outstanding facilitator of conversations and is passionate about helping organizations create the foundation for success.
