Our client, the Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) manages $128.2B in AUM. WSIB is currently seeking both an Assistant Senior Investment Officer and an Investment Officer in its Risk Management & Asset Allocation (RMAA) unit.
These are opportunities to have meaningful impact at a well-resourced, high quality institutional investment organization. The RMAA unit is uniquely positioned at the WSIB to apply a broad working knowledge in its investment management and research activities. 
Assistant Senior Investment Officer 
• Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, economics, finance, statistics or closely related field; CFA designation strongly preferred. CAIA designation in addition to the CFA designation is viewed favorably
• Ideally eight (8) or more years of investment experience preferably in an institutional investment setting
Working knowledge of private markets asset classes strongly preferred.Multi-asset class work experience, either direct or through manager oversight functions, a strong positive
Investment Officer 
• Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, economics, finance, statistics or closely related field; CFA designation strongly preferred. CAIA designation in addition to the CFA designation is viewed favorably
• Ideally three (3) or more years of investment experience preferably in an institutional investment setting
• Knowledge of modern portfolio theory, capital markets, asset allocation modeling, investment risk management tools, investment portfolio mechanics, and general knowledge of all investment asset classes

Deputy Director for Administrative Services
Our client, Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS), is seeking a Deputy Director for Administrative Services, a newly created position.  The position has been created to provide additional succession planning bench strength to the TMRS management team, and has the potential to be considered for the Executive Director position in the future. TMRS is a statewide agent multiple-employer public employee retirement system that provides retirement, disability, and death benefits to employees.  As a hybrid defined benefit plan, TMRS members contribute at a designated rate toward their own retirement benefit. TMRS is located in Austin, Texas and employs a staff of 116.  As of 12/31/2017 the funded status was 87.4%.
The Deputy Director for Administrative Services (DDAS) reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for assisting in the top management of the organization; directly overseeing assigned operational departments, programs, staff and/or functions.  The DDAS is also responsible for creating a centralized procurement process and assessing the enterprise risk management function, which may include implementation and oversight if brought forward.  This role will have three direct reports and oversee approximately 35 indirect reports.

Director of Research & Development

Our client, a global multi-million dollar pet product company, seeks a Director of Research & Development (Director).  The Director will report to the Vice President & General Manager of the company with responsibility for leading development efforts for new products, product improvements, and new & improved manufacturing processes.  S/he will lead product development through a formal stage gate process. Peers include the heads of Marketing, Quality & Regulatory, Sales & Customer Service, and Manufacturing & Distribution.

Qualified candidates will likely be a Ph.D. Animal Nutritionist with the industry experience to credibly speak with veterinarians, or a DVM with extensive real-world expertise in animal nutrition.  Others may be considered based on animal nutrition experience or expert qualifications.  A solid understanding of neonate animal nutrition is preferred, plus at least five years of successful hands-on experience guiding product development - from Concept to Commercialization.
