Deputy Secretary of Business Development

We are assisting our client, The Kansas Department of Commerce in their search for the Deputy Secretary of Business Development. Reporting to the Secretary of Commerce, the Deputy Secretary will serve as second in command alongside the Chief Counsel.

The Deputy Secretary will lead the Business Development, Communications and Marketing, Community Development, and International Divisions. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of leadership experience in business and/or economic development.

Executive Director

Our client, a defined benefit plan providing retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to employees of the City, the school district and public library, is seeking an Executive Director (ED).   

The ED role reports to the Board and is responsible for directing the comprehensive administration of all retirement system operations, including production of the annual financial report, benefits administration, and investment portfolio oversight. The ED will lead a staff of 2.

Executive Director

Our client is seeking an Executive Director (ED).   The organization provides retirement, disability, death, and survivor benefits for employees of the St. Louis Public School District, employees of Charter Schools located within the St. Louis Public School District, and certain other employees.

This ED role requires a hands-on style and will be responsible for the day to day administration and business affairs of the organization, with assets of over $800M and an operating budget of approximately $7 million. The ED leads a team of six through three direct reports.

Vice President – Insurance Advisory Services

Our client is committed to advancing child health through innovation in the quality, cost and delivery of care with children’s hospitals.

The VP Insurance Advisory Services will report to the VP Insurance Service and serve as a part of a team of problem solvers helping children’s hospitals use collaborative employee benefit and insurance group purchasing activities in creative ways to provide strategic and operational value to member hospitals. 

We Seek:  A minimum of fifteen years’ of insurance benefit producer or benefits consulting experience required; emphasis on managing client relationships for large employers; ability to present information in support of data-driven decision making; BA degree required as well as a Health and Life insurance license.

Vice President – General Manager

Our client develops, manufactures and markets animal health products and focuses on arming vets, animal caregivers and the animal health industry with therapeutics, nutraceuticals, and medical supplies.

The Vice President–General Manager reports to the COO of the parent company, managing a direct report team of six, while leading the business unit’s operations and strategic direction and plan.

We Seek: 10+ years of increasing leadership responsibility including general management and/or business unit leadership with five or more years’ in the animal health industry; broad based team leadership with diverse responsibilities. i.e. production plants, scientists, product release management, business development/sales and logistics; a track record of success in managing P&L in an organization of significant revenue size; and a BS/BA degree. An advanced degree or sales and marketing expertise will distinguish highly sought prospects.
